YanceyDesktop will run on any machine supported
by the Microsoft .NET 2.0 framework.
If you do not have .NET 2.0 installed on your system, the YanceyDesktop Installer will download and
install it for you automatically or click
here
to go to the Microsoft .NET 2.0 download site.
Use the link above to download "YanceyDesktop
x.xx.xxxx.exe" to your local machine and double click it to
start the install. Follow the prompts.
To use
YanceyDesktop, you must have a folder setup as a
Yanceyware Library. You can start by copying
the YW Library folder from your PPC version to your
desktop or you can create a new library on your PC by
following the instructions on
www.yanceyware.com/support
(see the FAQ). Start
YWD by using the Start Programs button and selecting
YanceyDesktop from the YanceyDesktop folder.
The first time YanceyDesktop is run,
it will take extra time to start while it finishes the
installation procedure - subsequent startups are much
faster. YWD will first look for a YanceyWare library
directory “C:\YWLibrary”. If it doesn’t find it,
it will prompt you for a library location: tell it where
to find your *.ybk files. YWD remembers this
location. If a library.html file already exists,
it will show it. If not, use the File | Library
Refresh command to create one.
By default, YanceyDesktop uses it's
own advanced menu system. This menu is
customizable by the user (for the technically inclined).
YWD will also use classic YW "library menus" stored in
the .\YanceyWare\Menu subdirectory of your library.
Use the Tools | Options | Menus dialog, select the, "Use
library menu" options, then click "OK". This same
dialog can be used to select from multiple menu styles.
